SRC Welcomes Dean Preston as Associate Director

March 3, 2025

SRC is pleased to announce the appointment of Dean Preston as associate director. Dean has been working with SRC as an external consultant for the past two years and now joins the team in a permanent capacity.

Established in 2010, SRC is an independent consultancy firm renowned for its commitment to safety and excellence. The organisation, that specialises in the renewables sector, provides services in health and safety, cost and project management and lifting compliance. With experience across multinational consultancies, major corporations and private organisations globally, SRC offers comprehensive support throughout a project lifecycle, ensuring compliance and reducing risk.

With over 20 years of experience, Dean joins a team of industry leaders and will play a key role in expanding SRC’s presence within the renewables sector. His expertise will help further develop the company’s already strong standing within the growing industry.

Dean, who originally trained as a mechanical technician before transitioning into the health and safety sector, has a strong passion for the Net Zero movement and is eager to contribute to the development of workforce opportunities and skillsets within the renewable energy space.

Dean grew up in Teesside and takes great pride in the work SRC is undertaking on major projects in his home region. He is particularly excited about the opportunity to help shape and drive renewable energy initiatives across the UK.

Dean will be based out of SRC’s Teesside office but will also collaborate with teams in the Midlands and Newcastle. Additionally, SRC is pleased to announce the opening of its fourth office in Edinburgh this week, strengthening its ability to service its established Scottish client base.

Dean’s appointment will further reinforce SRC’s commitment to supporting key renewable energy projects due to Dean already having a strong foothold in the sector, having worked with clients including Scottish Power, Ørsted and Siemens Gamesa. The organisation (SRC) is also the lead on health and safety for RWE’s Sofia Offshore Wind Farm, which is currently under construction and set to become one of the world’s largest wind farms.

Commenting on his new role, Dean said: “I am thrilled to be joining SRC in a permanent capacity at such an exciting time for both the renewable energy sector and SRC. The journey to Net Zero presents incredible opportunities and I look forward to working alongside our clients to drive safe and sustainable solutions.”

SRC’s managing director, Graham Tyerman, added: “Dean has been a valuable asset to SRC over the past two years and we are delighted to welcome him to the team as associate director. His extensive experience and enthusiasm will be instrumental in driving our business forward as we continue to support clients in the renewables sector.”
