SRC Lifting Compliance Services division has been shortlisted for the ‘Excellence in Safety’ category at the 2024 LEEA Awards.
The annual LEEA Awards celebrate and champion members who have raised standards in the lifting industry. The awards recognise organisations with revolutionary safety protocols, pioneering innovation, or driving sustainable practices.
The ‘Excellence in Safety’ award focuses on companies with a strong safety culture, a priority on promoting safety as a core value and integrating safety practices into daily operations while achieving measurable safety goals and objectives.
The shortlisting recognises the development and publication of SRC’s free Crane Datum Checklist. A simple and effective free verification tool that helps organisations conduct high-level due diligence checks of crane configuration on-site.
The checklist intends to detect and prevent situations where the crane may not follow the lift plan or inaccuracies with Rated Capacity Indicator (RCI) programming, whether caused by an unintended mistake or intentional misuse of the equipment. Incorrect configuration of the crane is potentially a safety-critical situation, and due to the thousands of different duties of many mobile cranes, it may not always be identified by simple visual checks alone.
Danny Travis, head of SRC Lifting Compliance Services, said: “For an organisation whose sole existence is dedicated to managing lifting operations safety for our clients, making the shortlisted nominees for this category in our first year as associate LEEA members, is testament to our commitment to enhancing industry standards.”
The LEEA Awards Ceremony takes place on the evening of Wednesday 16th October 2024 at London’s iconic Dorchester Hotel.
