Refurbishment of Ellison Labs

Dates: May 2017 – Sep 2017
The project included A012 and A014 refurbishment and reconfiguration of the existing laboratories on the first floor in the Ellison building. The works included reconfiguration of the existing walls, new access from the existing corridor, new air handling and comfort cooling, alteration of bulk gas supplies, replacement of M&E, asbestos removal and general decoration.
SRC were appointed as Principal Designer CDM Advisor for the project.
Our role included supporting the Client with the identification of relevant Pre-Construction information, identifying gaps in the existing records and recommending relevant surveys.
SRC were appointed from the feasibility stages of the project with involvement throughout the design stages, liaising with the design team, facilities management team to manage the design risk process identifying relevant project health and Safety risks, giving solutions.
Our experience from previous projects provided significant value to the project. Giving solutions to the future access and maintenance risks.
Paul led the design team through the Design risk management process holding CDM workshops ensuring hierarchy of control was considered in addressing all design risk.
