“Following concerns raised by the regulator, SafetyOn instigated a specific workstream to focus on the onshore wind industry’s compliance with the Lifting Operations and Lifting Equipment Regulation 1998 (LOLER). The workstream was supported by a cross section of onshore wind companies including operators, developers and original equipment manufacturers (OEMs), to discuss and share knowledge on this topic. The deliverable was the development of good practice guidance for Mobile crane lifting for onshore wind farms.

A working group was formed, and Danny was invited to join as a subject matter expert on this topic. Danny was a key contributor to the successful completion of this guidance, bringing over 25 years of industry experience. Danny worked on this project on a voluntary basis, later he was contracted to work on assisting in the production of a Safe by Design report, with both projects Danny consistently made himself available to ensure the quality of documents were on point.
